Assignment: Fall Grade Record - Quarter 1

You are going to create a spreadsheet for tracking your grade points in each of your classes.

Part 1:
Points: 25

Set Up Spreadsheet (sample)

  • Use Excel to create a new workbook named "fallgraderecord"
  • Change the name of "Sheet 1" to "Qtr 1" (double-click tab)
  • Change the name of "Sheet 2" to "Qtr 2" (double-click tab)
  • Delete "Sheet 3" (right-click on tab name, choose Delete"
  • Stretch row 1 down (hover between line 1 and 2, click to stretch) on tab 1
    • Create a title "Quarter 1 Grade Record" with WordArt in upper left corner at the top - place it to the left side in row 1
  • In row 2, type your first and last name and period number in regular text near the top by the title
  • Skip rows 3 & 4
  • In row 5, create a column headed "Classes"
    • rows 6-XX should contain the name of each class in separate rows with no spaces between the rows (easiest to put in order by period to match Zangle) - do NOT include FIRE or college classes
  • In row 5 column B, start creating a column for each day that technology literacy meets from today until the last week of the quarter (October 18th or 19th, 2007 - depends on W/F or T/Th)
    • get out your agenda or use the linked district calendar and label each column with the the date (e.g., 09/04/07 or 09/05/07) - be sure to include the year
  • At the very bottom of page (drop a few rows down), create a list of letter grades and the corresponding grade point for each as listed below
