Part 2:

10 minutes

Reading the AUP Document (on your own)

Every student will receive a copy of the Foothill AUP to read and keep in the "Education in the Digital Age" (EDA) section of their binder.

Please use the next 10 minutes of class to read this document with a focus on the section with letters A-W. Re-read this section a couple of times.

If you are not sure what a word/phrase means, write the letter of the item in which it appears and the word/phrase on a piece of scratch paper - put the scratch paper in the box on the instructor's desk. Your instructor will clarify definitions for the entire class at the end of 15 minutes.

You will be responsible for discussing these elements of the AUP in the next part of this activity.

Partners Discussions

  • Sit with your assigned partner
  • With your copy of the Foothill Acceptable Use Policy in hand, re-read your assigned items in section 4, A-W
  • With your partner, make up one possible example that demonstrates an infraction (be specific and use detail) of each assigned item
  • On a piece of scratch paper, write down a detailed description of each example
    • There will be a total of 3 examples (NOT 3 per item)
  • Do NOT share your answers with any other group yet

When your instructor asks, in the next portion of this activity, please be ready to share your examples with the class.

(3 * 5 points = 15 points per partner for completed work)
